The music mentoring workshop has been in full swing, and during weeks 3 & 4, the trainees took a major step in their creative journey – they HIT THE STUDIO!
With a blank slate and a world of ideas, they began brainstorming the concept for their group song. After deep discussions and collaboration, they landed a powerful theme: Self Expression. Working together, they explored songwriting techniques, learning how to structure lyrics and tell a story through music.
To bring their music to life, Maxwell D provided a selection of beats, and after listening and vibing, the group chose the one that best captured the essence of their song. From there, it was all about crafting lyrics, finding melodies, and building confidence in their creative process.
But that wasn’t all, this week, the trainees also had the invaluable opportunity to meet with Music A&R and Artist Manager Micheal Flakes. He gave them real insights into how artists get their music out there, what A&R teams look for, and how to navigate the industry. Sharing his personal journey, he provided inspiration and practical advice, leaving the trainees with a clearer understanding of the business side of the music.
As the weeks progress, the trainees are not only developing their skills but also gaining the knowledge and confidence to take their music further. Stay tuned.
